Chords

A chord is two or more notes played at the same time.  This is the E chord

     E|----------------
     B|----------------
     G|-1--------------
     D|-2--------------
     A|-2--------------
     E|----------------

Really, you could just choose any notes you wanted and played them together, and that would be a chord. But you'd have no clue about what kind of chord it was unless you knew some chord theory.  EasyTAB has a lesson on chords which will explain some of the theory.

Chords and EasyTAB

There are two ways of viewing chords in EasyTAB

  1. From the pull down menu selecting Chords/Fast Finder allows you to quickly select from over 1000 chords.  Once you have selected the type and variation of the chord the notes are then transferred to the fret board.  From the fret board it can then be transferred to the TAB.
  2. For more details such as the variations available select from the Chords pull down menu then the chord.  This will load an EasyTAB file which allows you to browse and play the different chords available.  The only disadvantage with this method of viewing chords is that you will need to save the TAB file you are working on in order to load them.
